A. By definition. Yes. It is a Class 8 corrosive and a class 9 Environmentally Hazardous Liquid. It must be packaged in UN Approved Dangerous Goods Containers and our transport Providers must be licensed to carry Dangerous Goods.
Q. How does Bactercide perform in hard water or cold conditions.
A. Thanks to our specialised formulation Bactercide remains highly stable and fully active in hard water conditions up to 400 ppm and across typical Australian winter temperatures.
Q. Does it work if there is still organic matter (mud/manure) on the surface.
A. Bactercide is recognised for maintaining its efficacy in organic soils far better than traditional chlorine or iodine-based disinfectants. However, for maximum biosecurity results, we always recommend scraping and pre-washing heavy organic matter with Hammersley's Hydrosolv before applying Bactercide.
Q. Is Bactercide corrosive to farm machinery. galvanised steel, or aluminium.
A. At recommended dilutions Bactercide is non corrosive to stainless steel, galvanised metals, plastic and rubber.
Q. How long can a dilution of Bactercide sit in a spray tank or boot dip.
A. In a sealed, clean spray tank Bactercide dilutions will remain stable for up to 7 days. For open Boot Dips or Wheel Washers exposed to direct sunlight and heavy mud, It is recommended replacing the solution every 5-7 days (or sooner) if heavily contaminated to guarantee optimal microbial knockdown.
Q. Are there special requirements for Storage and Disposal.
A. Bactercide should be stored in its original closed container in a cool, well ventilated area away from direct sunlight, food and animal foodstuffs. Do not allow to freeze. Before disposal of empty containers rinse thoroughly.
Q. How available is Technical Support.
A. Our Technical Support is readily available through our head of Technical Operations at our Newcastle Office.
